Exhibition: Anna Thommesen – Weavings

Anna Thommesen (1908-2004) was a self-taught artist who began her practice as a painter before turning to handwoven textiles. Inspired by nature, she developed a distinctive visual language through abstract tapestries, hand-dyed yarns, and incredible craftsmanship. This exhibition brought together over 40 of her works, alongside sketches, colour studies, and process materials, a thoughtful insight into her artistic practice and contribution to modern textile art. We visited the exhibition during our recent trip to Copenhagen this spring.
